Time to start writing

OK, so I've been thinking for a couple of weeks that I should actually be using this space to journal. I love reading my friends list and seeing what people are up to in their everyday lives. I feel like I know you all so well but don't reveal much of myself in return and I've been feeling a bit guilty about that. I mean, I've never hidden the fact that I blog elsewhere and I suspect some of you may be reading there, but since my mum and MIL read that, I definitely feel like I censor myself more. And I sometimes feel like the fact that it's less private and the comments are always from people who know me IRL, people I've met online are less likely to comment over there.

I'm gonna go pretty friends only with this I think, at least to start with, while I figure out how much of myself I feel comfortable revealing to the world at large. Now, I just have to decide if I keep my siblings on my friends list (they know I love them)...

i've been away for over a week and wanted to catch up and g* is down?
is this a planned thing i didn't know about or am i just unlucky?

i guess i should take this as a sign that i should be typing up my diary from our trip, rather than spending hours reading messageboards...

so, i went through a g* thread and opened a whole bunch of people's ljs with the intention of growing my friends list, but then i stupidly closed the g* thread and as i started reading, realised i am crazy tired - so i have just added a bunch of people and have to go back tomorrow and work out who said to comment to be added and actually leave comments for people. at the moment, i look like the kid who wants to be friends with everyone, but no-one actually likes, but whatever.

so just in case people look at their profiles before then and are wondering who the hell added them, i am k8 over on g*, have a similar avatar to this pic and wanna get to know you all better...

and if this makes no sense, just ignore :)

OK, I know I basically never post here, and I'm not posting now to say that's really going to change - if and when I get the chance to blog, I do it elsewhere.

I just wanted to say that I'm aiming to be a more vocal internet user, so I want to add more friends and start commenting more. I guess I should work out this whole livejournal thing a bit and make myself a profile or something so people don't think I'm too weird when I suddenly pop-up on their comments (if my rambling here hasn't already convinced them of that). You know when you want to say something and you don't feel like you can find the right words to say it? I'm having one of those moments right now... I'm basically saying that although I may not post about my life too much here, I want to get more involved, and feel as though I should at least have a recent post up. Does that make sense? I think I'm still sick...

Top of the Pops

I figured I'd post this here, since its mainly for Elizabeth's information... Especially since the only people reading this right now would be her and Josh : )

The last ever episode of Top of the Pops was on last night. We recorded it, as well as some program that was on later that was like a highlights show. It was a very strange top of the pops though - it was mainly a bunch of presenters from all different times and they played a lot of old footage cut together into decades and stuff. No-one actually performed live and the tragic thing is that Shakira featuring some dude was the last ever number 1. So yeah, we're trying to work out how to copy it somewhere you can watch it (at the moment its trapped in our Sky box), but if you don't want/need to see it, let me know.

In other news - I'm wondering if our parents are likely to read this - not that I plan on writing anything they can't read, but it could be a good place to rant without worrying about how mum might react.

Actually, I've just been playing around with the settings and you can't get a real feel for how something will look with only one post.

I have to say, I think blogger is more user friendly...

I actually don't know if there will ever be any more posts than this - I have a perfectly good blog already, but some people, like my sister, will insist on having lj and then making it friends only, so I decided to bite the bullet and get an lj account.
